Newspaper

Newspaper is the paper which brings news to us. I was first published in China. The first Bengali newspaper was the Samacher Darpan. A newspaper plays a vital role in modern civilisation. It is said to be the mirror of the world. It helps us to acquire general knowledge which is essential for our education. Mere bookish knowldege is not sufficient in the struggle of life. A man who does not read newspaper daily is like a frog in a narrow well. Being 1gnorant of current topics, he cannot take part in the talks and discussions in an enlightened socielty and seems like a fish out of water. A newspaper is a news of varieties, such as the news of current affirs, trade, commerce, Films, games and sports etc. Contain in our country almost everyday newspaper has an extra page for the students in which various subjects are written. All these have educative value. But, a newspaper is not alltogether free from evils. Sometimes, it publishes false and Parisian news and comments and thus misleads people. So, we should not blindly influenced by these comments but should keep an open mind to the facts and problems. Yet, its merits are many. It is called the storehouse of knowledge. It is the people's parliament. So, we should read newspaper.

সংবাদপত্র হলাে সেই কাগজ যা আমাদেরকে সংবাদ এনে দেয়। এটা প্রথম প্রকাশিত হয় চীনে। প্রথম বাংলা সাংবাদপত্র হলাে সমাচার দর্পণ। আধুনিক সভ্যতায় সংবাদপত্র একটা বড় ভূমিকা পালন করে। এটাকে বিশ্বের দর্পণ বলা হয়। এটা আমাদেরকে সাধারণ জ্ঞান লাভে সাহায্য করে যা আমাদের শিক্ষার জন্য দরকার। জীবনের সংগ্রামে কেবল পুস্তকী জ্ঞান যথেষ্ট নয়। যে ব্যক্তি দৈনিক সংবাদপত্র পড়ে না সে কুয়াের ব্যাঙের মতাে। সাম্প্রতিক বিষয়ে অজ্ঞ থাকার কারণে সে আলােকিত সমাজের কোনাে আলােচনায় অংশ নিতে পারে না এবং তাকে পানিচ্যুত মাছের মতাে মনে হয়। সংবাদপত্র বিভিন্ন ধরনের সংবাদ যেমন- সাম্প্রতিক বিষয়াবলি ব্যবসায়-বাণিজ্য, চলচ্চিত্র, খেলাধূলা ইত্যাদি সংবাদ বহন করে থাকে। আমাদের দেশের প্রায় সকল দৈনিক দৈনিক পত্রিকায় বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে লেখা ছাত্রদের জন্য অতিরিক্ত পৃষ্ঠা থাকে। এ সবের শিক্ষামূল্য আছে। তবে সংবাদপত্র একেবারে ত্রুটিমুক্তও নয়। যাঝে মাঝে এগুলাে মিথ্যা ও অতিরঞ্জিত সংবাদ ও মন্তব্য পরিবেশন করে জনগণকে বিভ্রান্ত করে। তাই আমাদের এগুলােতে অন্ধ প্রভাবিত না হয়ে প্রকৃত ঘটনা ও সমস্যার প্রতি খােলা দৃষ্টি রাখতে হবে। তবুও সংবাদপত্রের সুফল অনেক। এটাকে জ্ঞানের ভাণ্ডার বলা হয়। এটা জনগনের সংসদ। আমাদের সংবাদপত্র পড়া উচিত।
